What stops us from doing it?

What stops us from writing the romance novel? What stops us from putting words to the story in our minds?

Writing is the one art form that, for some unknown reason, people collectively respect and admire.

Paint a picture—great...

Compose a song—cool...

Write a book—stop everything, because you've done the unthinkable.

Perhaps the reason why writing is held in such high regard is for the precise reason why you're here: It's incredibly difficult to start, persist, and finish the piece you have in mind.

Writing comes with so much pressure.

The pressure of perfection, stemming from the respect the art receives.
The pressure from the possibility that your work won't see the light of day in a traditional publishing sense.
The pressure of hate.
The pressure that you'll do months, perhaps even years, of work, only to sell five copies to your close family.

Then, there's the fear of romance itself.

When I say "romance novel," what do you automatically think?

Smut.

Whether or not that's what you're writing, we hate the idea of people believing and/or knowing that these are the things going through our head.

So, all this to say: I get it.

"Sit down and write the book," isn't as easy to do as it is to say. Writing is hard, scary, and not altogether pleasant. Writing is sort of awful when you think about it.

But...

Sitting down and writing the book really is the only way you're going to produce a romance novel.

So, the question becomes: How are you going to get out of your own way?

In Phase 1, we're focusing on getting out of our heads. We're focusing on gaining clarity. We're working to activate the pen and get the ideas flowing.

And let me just say, there's absolutely nothing to fear, but you aren't alone in your hesitation.

Don't let that hesitation stop you from stepping up and embracing your dream of being a romance writer.
